Em 1971 Eric Burdon formou sua banda de apoio para apresentações. Entre 71 e 73 a Eric Burdon Band gravou algum material novo, mas somente lançaria um álbum em 74, o "Sun Secrets". Este petardo mesclava novas composições com regravações de sucessos do Animals, porém agora em versões mais longas e voltadas para o hard rock.
